Since it is my blog, I guess that allows me to say whatever I want with what I attribute to my success in private practice physical therapy. I would be negligent if I didn’t admit that faith plays a huge role in my life, and my relationship with Christ fuels me on a daily basis. I am not pushing any religion on anyone reading this…but I must admit that there is a certain way that I handle my finances, which I attribute to the success of everything in my life, including my private practice.
I believe that giving God the first 10% my income has been the most important key to the success of my business. My reasoning for this is that I believe that God plays the most important role with re: to giving myself and all of my staff favor with patients, referral sources, adjustors and any other individual or groups of individuals who have some type of relationship with our business. I give him 100% credit for all that I have. Giving him my talents and treasures via my church and helping others in need, is my way of demonstrating my obedience to a biblical principal. It is also a way of showing him that I am thankful for everything he has given me, and also a way for me to express that I trust in him and him only to sustain my business.
I have learned over the past 5 years of being a private practice owner, that you can’t depend on any one insurance company, any MD or group of MD’s, any patient or group of patients, to be your ticket to success…. it never works. All you can do is do the right thing, the best way you know how to, on a day to day basis… and trust in God to give you wisdom to learn better, brighter, and more innovative ways to sustain your business.
