Why chose private practice for a graduating PT? Although the corporate sector has some strong points, working in private practice considerably outdoes the corporate setting. With the transition towards DPT programs throughout the United States, the cost of attending physical therapy programs have significantly risen. New graduates are now stuck with the burden of having to pay back school loans in the five to six figure range. The truth is that in outpatient corporate PT, there is not much ability to progress financially when you are a treating therapist. This makes for a much more rewarding, sustainable career, with much more financial upside, in a very fulfilling profession.
